Three main types of industry
- Service industries — most Canadians work here (transportation, education, healthcare, construction, banking, communications, retail, tourism, government).
- Manufacturing industries — paper, high tech, aerospace, automobiles, food.
- Natural resources industries — forestry, fishing, agriculture, mining, energy. About 1 in 10 Canadians works in these industries.
Trade
- The United States is by far Canada's largest trading partner.
- Canada has trade agreements with countries around the world.
- Canada is a member of the G7, G20, OECD, the WTO, and the United Nations.
Money
- The Canadian dollar is Canada's currency.
- The Royal Canadian Mint produces Canadian circulation coins.
- The Bank of Canada is Canada's central bank.
